Anaesthesiology

  •  The Department of Anaesthesiology, SIMS & RC provide service to all the
  • Broad and Super specialty surgical units, viz General Surgery, OBG, Ortho, ENT, Opthal and Urology, Plastic surgery, SGE, surgical Onco.  Our service are also covering Med gastro, Intervention Radiology, Cardiology Cath lab for non surgical procedures.  The medical ICU is taken care round the clock by our department.
  • The department has  07 Professors, 04 Associates Professors, 08 Assistant Professors and 02 Senior Residents as on this date.
  • There are 58 Post Graduates as of now.  The intake of Post Graduates is 24 per year, under SNPSU.
  • The department along with managing the Surgical workload, non operating Room Anaesthesia and ICU, has an extensive academic activity going on everyday.  Along with bedside clinical hands on training/teaching the Post Graduates have didactic lectures, seminars, journal club and case discussion. There are Inter department seminars to have a inclusive discussion and interaction with other departments.
  • The Post graduates are given guidance for case studies/interesting case reports and publishing papers in indexed journals.

e. CPR training and mastering of BLS & ACLS.

f.Dissertation: Choosing a topic of dissertation, submission of synopsis to the university

2. Able to manage critically ill patients and treat intractable pain, to organize resources in case of mass casualty

3. Dissertation: The completed dissertation must be submitted to the University, 6 months before the examination, before the notified date
