Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)
Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the Ear, Nose, and Throat. Over the years, the field has expanded beyond its traditional boundaries to include head and neck surgery, skull base surgery, and facial plastic surgery. Given that ENT disorders often impact vital sensory functions such as hearing, olfaction, taste, and voice, ENT surgeries demand a high level of precision.
Understanding ENT is crucial for all medical students, as it involves life-saving procedures like tracheotomy, foreign body removal, and nasal packing, along with advanced surgeries such as micro ear surgery, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS), and micro laryngeal surgery. A solid foundation in ENT is essential for any doctor, as ENT-related conditions significantly affect a patient’s quality of life.
The department is actively involved in research and committed to advancing medical knowledge in the field of ENT. It has successfully guided several postgraduate students in earning their master’s degree and continues to mentor the next generation of doctors. To support learning and academic excellence, the department is equipped with a dedicated seminar hall, a library, and advanced teaching aids such as LCD projectors and internet access.
