Responsibilities
- University Leadership: Is responsible for establishing and promoting an environment free from discrimination and harassment, ensuring compliance with this policy, and allocating necessary resources.
- Deans, Directors, Department Heads, and Managers: Are responsible for implementing this policy within their respective areas, ensuring that their staff and faculty understand and adhere to it, and taking prompt action to address concerns.
- Faculty and Staff: Are responsible for upholding the principles of this policy in their interactions with students, colleagues, and the public, and for reporting any observed or reported violations.
- Students: Are expected to treat all members of the University community with respect and dignity, and to adhere to the principles outlined in this policy and the Student Code of Conduct.
Investigation and Resolution
Upon receiving a report, the University will:
- Conduct a prompt, fair, and impartial investigation.
- Provide all parties involved with an opportunity to present their perspectives and evidence.
- Take appropriate remedial action, up to and including disciplinary measures (e.g., warnings, suspension, termination for employees; suspension, expulsion for students), to stop the prohibited conduct, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its effects.
- Communicate the outcome of the investigation and any disciplinary actions taken to the complainant, as appropriate and permitted by law.
Training and Awareness
The University is committed to providing regular training and awareness programs to all members of the community on this policy, its procedures, and the importance of fostering an inclusive environment.
