Abstract:
The human computer interaction is challenging for physically disable individuals. Many people rely on assisting technologies for interaction, such as virtual keyboard for artificial control system to be independent. The development of eye-controlled cursor movement, scrolling and clicking mechanisms has gained significant attention for such individuals. The proposed method achieves accurate and robust gaze tracking from eye images using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). The framework consists of three main stages: eye detection and pupil localization, feature extraction, and cursor movement prediction. The CNNs significantly learn spatial feature hierarchies, enabling reliable mapping from eyeball gaze movements to action of the cursor. Rigorous experimental result shows the system performance based on conventional gazing and cursor control techniques for predicting the accuracy and stability. The system also demonstrates robustness under varying conditions and user specific differences. This approach provides a spontaneous solution for hands free cursor control with improved accessibility, independence and usability to interface with the computer for the individual disability supporting the border application.
