Director's Message

Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the School of Engineering and Technology, Sapthagiri NPS University. UG program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering is designed to provide a strong foundation in theory and practical applications to students. The curriculum followed is aligned with latest industry trends such as soft computing applications, IoT, EV technologies and smart grid technologies. It covers the core areas in the field like, Electrical Machines and Power Systems, Control Systems and Automation, Power Electronics and Drives, Renewable Energy Systems, Embedded Systems & VLSI Design, Electric Machine Design and Digital Signal Processing. The career prospects for electrical engineers is growing globally as Renewable Energy and Sustainability is driving a high demand for Electrical engineers to design and optimize energy systems; The growth of EV Industry creating a huge opportunities for Electrical Engineers to design electrical machines, automobile power electronics and battery management system; Smart cities and Industry 4.O are increasing the need for automation and Intelligent Control Systems.

The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty team. Most of them are Doctors and all of them are highly talented. Staff members are allowed to attend the relevant Seminars, Workshops, and conferences to enrich their knowledge.

The department has Electrical Machines Lab, Digital System Design Lab, Relay & High Voltage Lab, Power System Simulation Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Electronics Lab, Micro Controller Lab, Electrical CAED Lab, Digital signal processing Lab, and Basic Electrical Engineering Lab, which are well equipped as per the requirement of university. The curriculum integrates programming languages such as Python and C/C++, along with industry-relevant tools like MATLAB and AutoCAD.

The department has two student clubs – the Robotics Club and the Sustainable Energy Club – established in collaboration with industry partners to engage students through monthly activities that promote innovation, practical learning, and real-world problem-solving. The department offers certification programs in Embedded Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and Renewable Energy Project Management to enhance students’ technical aptitude and professional competencies. An excellent proctoring system, supported by regular parent involvement, ensures a healthy, student-centered environment that supports academic and overall growth of the student.
