Profile
My name is Kalavathi S, and I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE- Data Science at Sapthagiri NPS University. I completed my M.Tech in Digital Electronics and Communication System .
My areas of interest include IOT, Microcontrollers,Microprocessor, Computer Organisation, Operating System, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, C programming,python and I am passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to academic research. I have 16 years of experience handling subjects such as mention subjects, and I actively encourage practical learning and critical thinking in the classroom.
Apart from academics, I am also involved in research work on Image processing, guiding academic projects publications , attending workshops andstudent activities, which helps me stay connected with current developments in the field.
I believe in creating a positive and interactive learning environment where students feel motivated to learn and grow both academically and professionally.

The rapid growth of urbanization and vehicle density has made traditional traffic control systems inefficient in handling real-time congestion. Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven traffic control systems have emerged as a promising solution to optimize traffic flow, reduce delays, and improve road safety. This survey paper presents a comprehensive review of AI-based techniques such as Machine Learning (ML), Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), and IoT-enabled adaptive traffic systems. It also highlights how modern smart city frameworks integrate real-time data, edge computing, and predictive analytics for efficient traffic signal optimization.
