SAPTHAGIRI NPS UNIVERSITY

Anti Ragging Mechanism

Our University is committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment, free from ragging. Implementing comprehensive measures to prevent ragging and address any incidents promptly and effectively.

We have established dedicated bodies to actively monitor and prevent ragging:

  • Anti-Ragging Committee: Composed of faculty members, administrative officials, student representatives and external members, this committee oversees the overall anti-ragging framework.
  • Anti-Ragging Squads: These squads regularly patrol key areas such as the campus, canteen, playground, vehicle parking areas, and hostel premises to identify and prevent potential ragging incidents.

1) Student Declarations and Affidavits

To ensure student accountability and awareness, all students are required to:

  • Sign affidavits affirming their commitment to not participate in any form of ragging.
  • Register online on the official Anti-Ragging Portal, with their reference numbers maintained by the University office.

2) Orientation and Awareness Programs

We proactively educate our students about the severity of ragging through:

  • Regular awareness sessions detailing the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging.
  • Periodic programs to reinforce anti-ragging regulations and promote a culture of respect.

3) Monitoring and Reporting Mechanisms

We maintain robust monitoring and reporting systems to ensure continuous vigilance:

  • Observance of National Anti-Ragging Week to highlight the issue.
  • Prominent display of posters, helpline numbers, and email IDs on the University website.
  • Scheduled meetings and inspections to verify adherence to anti-ragging norms.

4) Inspections and Audits

Our commitment to compliance is verified through:

  • Monitoring the effective functioning of anti-ragging committees.
  • Thorough examination of records and collection of student feedback.
  • Regular review of safety practices across the campus.

5) Disciplinary Actions & Punishment for Ragging

Strict disciplinary actions are initiated for all reported ragging cases on campus, which may include:

  • Cancellation of admission
  • Suspension from attending academic sessions
  • Withholding or withdrawal of scholarships, fellowships and other benefits
  • Debarment from appearing in examinations, tests or any evaluation processes
  • Withholding of academic results
