Fee Refund Policy
Sapthagiri NPS University is mandated to adhere to the fee refund policies stipulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC). These policies are designed to protect students’ interests in case of admission withdrawal.
1) Core Principles of Fee Refund Policy
- Student Protection: The primary aim is to ensure students are not penalized unfairly when withdrawing admission.
- Minimal Processing Fee: University is allowed to deduct a very small processing fee, generally not exceeding ₹1,000.
- Timely Refunds: Refunds, along with original certificates, must be processed promptly, typically within 7 to 15 days of receiving the withdrawal request.
- No Retention of Original Certificates: University is strictly forbidden from holding onto original academic certificates to compel students to continue their studies.
2) Specific Refund Percentages and Timelines
The refund amount depends on the timing of the student’s withdrawal relative to the formally notified last date of admission for the particular course.
100% Refund
- If the student withdraws 15 days or more before the formally notified last date of admission.
- Only a processing fee of up to ₹1,000 can be deducted.
90% Refund
- If the student withdraws less than 15 days before the formally notified last date of admission.
- Processing fee up to ₹1,000 can be deducted.
80% Refund
- If the student withdraws 15 days or less after the formally notified last date of admission.
- Processing fee up to ₹1,000 and proportionate monthly fees/hostel rent (if applicable and the vacated seat is filled) may be deducted.
50% Refund
- If the student withdraws more than 15 days but 30 days or less after the formally notified last date of admission.
- Processing fee up to ₹1,000 and proportionate monthly fees/hostel rent (if applicable and the vacated seat is filled) may be deducted.
0% (Zero) Refund
- If the student withdraws more than 30 days after the formally notified last date of admission.
- However, the Security Deposit/Caution Money must be refunded in full in all cases.
3) Important Considerations for Sapthagiri NPS University:
- Sapthagiri NPS University’s “Admission (Cancellation & Refund)”:
- The University states it will consider cancellation/withdrawal requests made in accordance with prescribed regulations.
- The application for cancellation/withdrawal must be on the prescribed form, signed by both the student and parent.
- Refund is generally only for the Academic Course Fee. Application Fee and Admission Registration Fee are usually non-refundable.
